People Service Centre – Food Friend Action – Shum Shui Po District

The People Service Centre is responding to the poverty situation in Hong Kong by providing aid for those in need. One of their key programmes is the Food Friend Action (FFA) project, a food recycling and aid scheme that operates in five districts of Hong Kong: Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon City, Tuen Mun and Yau Tsim Mong. They were established in 2013 and regularly collect surplus food to redistribute to the community. Their source of surplus food comes from mainly wet markets, bakeries, food chain stores, food manufacturers and public donations. All their services are provided for free. They became a FHK Charity Partner in 2018.
