Word Food Day 2022

Food Wanted, Not Wasted.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to bring uncertainty to Hong Kong. From all of us at Feeding Hong Kong, we sincerely hope you are keeping well and healthy. Adding to the challenging conditions brought on by the pandemic, we are witnessing only gradual economic recovery and food price increases that make it even harder for the underprivileged to afford good food.

Throughout this time, food weighting more than 220 double decker buses is being dumped into landfills every day in Hong Kong, while so many are unable to get enough nutritious food.

As a result, this year’s World Food Day on 16 October means a lot for Hong Kong. It’s not only a day to give thanks to the great food we are enjoying every day, but also a day to remember those who are struggling with food insecurity.

Feeding Hong Kong is taking steps with our food donors, corporate partners, volunteers and the public to reduce quality food being wasted and instead, provide food support to people in need. Our mission is more important and relevant than ever before.

Feed people, not landfills

For only HK$100, you can support 10 meals for a local charity. We make every dollar count.
